Charity Winner... Durham Crisis Response Center

 

 

Durham Crisis Response Center provides free and confidential support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, family violence, and human trafficking through compassionate, trauma-informed services. Through emergency shelter, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, counseling referrals, and support groups, the organization helps individuals and families find safety, healing, and hope during times of crisis.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation believes that every child deserves the best possible education and that excellent teachers ignite learning. Through teacher grants, professional development support, classroom innovation funding, and recognition of teaching excellence, they help create strong, equitable public schools where both students and educators can thrive. 

 .

Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge, rescues farm animals from abuse, neglect, and abandonment, providing lifelong care and a safe, compassionate home for more than 100 animals. Located on a 45-acre sanctuary in Pittsboro, the refuge offers peace, protection, and high-quality care while promoting kindness and awareness for farm animals.

Charity Winner... Club Nova

 

 

Club Nova is an intentional community that provides opportunities for individuals living with serious mental illness to lead meaningful lives of their choice in the community. Members and staff work together as colleagues to directly address the risks of serious mental illness and improve the health, education, housing, economic stability, and quality of life of each member. They plan to use Hoot's collective funding to strengthen their emergency response (equipment, supplies, and a generator) to ensure safety and wellbeing of our members.

Note in the Pocket, a Triangle-wide nonprofit that specializes in providing quality clothing, meeting this urgent need so children can fully participate in everyday life and learning.

 

Second Bloom of Chatham, who provide comprehensive response and support services to survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault and operate a thrift shop in Pittsboro to support survivors.
