Charity Winner... The Southern Coalition for Social Justice
Known as SCSJ, is a nonprofit organization founded in 2007 in Durham, North Carolina, by a multidisciplinary group, predominantly people of color, who believed families and communities engaged in social justice struggles needed a team of lawyers, social scientists, community organizers, and media specialists to support them in their efforts to dismantle structural racism and oppression. In the 15 years since, SCSJ has grown quickly, working at the intersections of voting rights, justice system reform, and environmental justice across the South.

Charity Winner... North Carolina Arts In Action
NC Arts in Action's mission is to instill self-esteem, perseverance, and excellence in children through dance, music, and performance. They aim to empower all elementary schools statewide through dance and live music programs. NC AIA’s in-school programs take place during the school day and involve the entire grade – typically fourth grade. Each classroom receives 50-60 minutes of instruction per session (i.e., 4th-grade classrooms = 5 hours of instruction per session). Classes are taught by a lead teacher/choreographer, an assistant, and a musician. One of the hallmarks of our programs is having live music for every class and performance.
